This is Leonhardt’s Launchpads third program in the Los Angeles area.  In addition to the Leonhardt’s Launchpad’s by Cal-X Stars Business Accelerator, Inc. program we’ve run over the past five years with 30 Regenerative Medtech and Regenerative Economy startups in the current 2017 class and Leonhardt’s Launchpads Playa Vista that just opened up earlier this year.  Building upon the success of these programs, we’ve developed a strong ecosystem of mentors and investors in L.A. and beyond to tap into.  We have created strong bridges of research relationships with UCLA, USC, Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine and Caltech The California Institute of Technology, LABioMed @ Harbor UCLA, LABioStart @ CalStateLA, Pasadena Bioscience Center, UC Irvine, JLabs San Diego, UC San Diego in Southern California.  Outside of Southern California @ UCSF, QB3 Incubator, JLabs South San Francisco, The University of Northern California,  University of Utah, Tufts University + Tufts Medical Center, Forsyth Institute Boston, University of Miami, University of Florida, University of Louisville, University of Minnesota, Ohio State University, Utrecht University in The Netherlands and The University of Buenos Aires & Hearten Biotech in Argentina.  We are proud of this new partnership with The DentaCell Accelerator and look forward to continuing to grow the global entrepreneurial ecosystem around healthcare innovation!

All startups accepted conditionally and preliminarily into The DentaCell Accelerator must first pass through a graded system at Santa Monica based CalXelerator “108 Days Create to Great” program before being fully accepted into the 5 year graduate program at The DentaCell Accelerator.  A minimum of $8,000 per member or $100,000 and maximum of $1 million will be invested by milestones in each qualifying startup in the accelerator from angel investors associated with the accelerator over the 5 year course of acceleration.

The DentaCell Accelerator, in partnership with Leonhardt’s Launchpads, will kick off in Los Angeles in January 2018, and applications open today on the CalXelerator web site > http://calxelerator.com/application/

The DentaCell Accelerator startups can locate at any of our locations in California or Utah.  In Utah we have lab space at BioInnovations Gateway.  See full listing of locations below.

“If a DentaCell Accelerator applicant chooses to locate in Utah we have incredible support resources here to help them launch and a great relationship with the Dentistry School at the University of Utah only a few minutes from our research lab space at BioInnovations Gateway and our startup co-working space at the C&S Business Incubator.” states Brett Burton, Director of R&D and Startup Launches at Leonhardt’s Launchpads Utah, Inc., Ph.D BioEngineering University of Utah Program  – see – https://ustar.org/find-us-statewide/bioinnovations-gateway

In 2016 DentaCell LTP spun out OrthodontiCell that has developed and has patent pending a bioelectric device for accelerated tooth movement and stabilizing teeth positions after movement – https://orthodonticell.com/ that has completed animal studies at the University of Utah and is now moving into studies at Forsyth Institute in Boston.

The DentaCell Accelerator has a special relationship with Biomerics in Utah for prototype development and manufacturing services – http://biomerics.com/about-us/

“In other startups in our accelerator we have demonstrated in a variety of stages of testing and have patents issued and pending on the ability for bioelectric stimulation signals to control stem homing, stem cell differentiation, tissue regeneration, bone regeneration and to contribute to healing wounds, infections and inflammation.   We have also demonstrated through multiple studies over many years the potential regenerative benefits of combination therapies such as stem cells + growth factors and repeat deliveries of those in combination with matrixes or nutrient hydrogels.  We are taking all of what we have learned since our team began stem cell and bioelectric based organ research and recovery in 1980’s towards helping to advance these new startups within this dentistry focsed innovation accelerator.”  stated Howard J. Leonhardt, Founder, Executive Chairman and CEO
